Alaska CBP Notice Does Not Affect Our Operations

Today, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a notice that its downtown Anchorage office would be closed for a week to 14 days due to one of its employees testing positive for COVID-19. In the notice, CBP refers to its downtown Anchorage office as the “Port of Anchorage,” causing confusion among recipients that the notice was referring to the Port of Alaska being closed.

Please be advised:

  • Domestic cargo, like that coming from Tacoma to Anchorage, is not required to clear U.S. Customs.
  • Port of Alaska Director Steve Ribuffo has assured us that the U.S. Customs and Border Protection office closure does not affect Port of Alaska operations.
  • 365体育备用网站’s operations continue uninterrupted.
